I’ve ate devils, evil spirits, legends, demigods, everything I could find. Why… Why can’t my hunger be satisfied?! Anything alive… or dead… any nutritious or non-nutritious, I’ve tried them all. Never have I felt satisfied… Why, why?!”
— Lu Sheng Chapter 727

Lu Sheng is the main protagonist of Way of the Devil.

Appearance[]

  • Before transmigrating, Lu Sheng was a big and tall square-faced middle aged man. In his previous life, he was a coding expert who could program his own game mod easily (Chapter 162).

In his new body, he started as a frail scholar before becoming a muscular martial artist. Practicing many outer force skills made his body appear increasingly monstrous, which is why he generally use the Extreme Yin Mode as a shapeshifting technique to regain his earliest looks as a fair skinned young master. In his human-like form Lu Sheng dresses with black or red robes.

Descriptive Quotes :[]

Every gesture and move he made was filled with gravitas, and he increasingly looked the part of the sect master of a giant sect. [...] What entered their view was a man with handsome facial features and skin that was fair and refined. A square hat, embossed with red jade, sat neatly on his head. Dressed in a long-sleeved silk robe, this Sect Master Lu Sheng looked more like a rich young master of a wealthy family rather than a sect master. While he looked muscular and fit, he also carried in his bearing the composed air of a refined gentleman.

In the dark, damp cave, Lu Sheng was sitting cross-legged in the deepest part against the wall, giving off an aura of coldness and distance. Bulges of strong, hard muscles could be faintly seen underneath his black robe. Although the robe was soft and loose, it looked like heavy-duty armor on him.
— As the Prime Devil Sect Master (Chapter 300)
Currently, beside one of the tables sat a fit, young man in tight, black clothing. The young man didn’t carry anything on him. His long black hair was tied in a high ponytail, and although he wasn’t handsome, he was decent and good-looking. He had a steady, dark aura about him, and his eyes were calm and deep, as if they were the bottomless sea.
— During his travel to Great Yin (Chapter 310)
A black shape rapidly flew above the verdant forest like a shooting star. He stood straight in the air, unhindered by air resistance as the strong wind flew past his side His black robe was embroidered with some purple flower patterns. If one looked closely, they might even notice that those patterns were somehow moving slowly. A huge, white “Thousand” symbol was embroidered on his back and emitted a faint flow. — As an Honorary Sect Master of the Thousand Sun Sect (Chapter 383)

Personality[]

Lu Sheng started as a martial artist in a world where mortals like him were under the constant threat of dying from strange events or supernatural monsters. This fueled in him a very deep thirst for power.

Moreover Lu Sheng can also be quite hypocritical. Indeeed, he often condemned the unfair and ruthless aspects of the cultivation world, while himself behaved in an overbearing, demonic way. Despite outwardly claiming to be rightous, Lu Sheng stays aware of his true nature which yearns for chaos and war.

Overall, Lu Shen can be described as a two-faced, tyrannical demon.

Just a moment ago, he was all filled with smiles. In the very next second, he had turned into a devil and had the Taoist beheaded.Even if such a man were to smile at you, how could you be certain that he wouldn’t put you to death in the very next second?

In her mind, Duan Rongrong had already labeled this Young Master Lu as a highly dangerous character.[1]
